Anime Drinking Game

Section one: Story line

Drink:

One finger if - the earth is threatened by some kind of alien invader.
Two fingers if - these invaders can only be defeated by large stompy robots.
Three fingers if - these robots can only be piloted by small children.

(Minmay rules - drink an additional finger if the invaders can be defeated by the power of song.)

Or:

One finger if - the earth is threatened by evil demons from another dimension/time.
Two fingers if - these demons are horribly be-tentacled.
Three fingers if - only one man with strange powers/a wooden sword can stop them.

(Urotsukidoji rules - drink an additional finger every time a tentacle goes somewhere where tentacles really shouldn’t go.)

Or:

One finger if - the main protagonist is a typical Japanese schoolgirl/boy.
Two fingers if - they get magically transported to another dimension/world/time.
Three fingers if - they bear an uncanny resemblance to someone from that dimension/world/time who just happens to be temporarily unavailable.

(Makoto rules - drink an additional finger if the person they are forced to impersonate is of a different gender.)

Section Two: Action.

Drink:

One finger if - the main character gets involved in a fight.
Two fingers if - he or she is horribly outnumbered.
Three fingers if - he or she is also unarmed.

(Project Ako rules - discount all of the above if you are watching Project Ako unless you value neither your sanity or your liver)

And:

One finger for - each instance of a totally unrealistic special attack.
Two fingers if - said attack has a long and complex name shouted when attack is used.
Three fingers if - said attack fails to have any kind of meaningful effect.

(Masamichi rules - down the remainder of your pint if the attack is called Fujisawa Monster Kick, just because you can.)

And:

One finger for - a transformation sequence.
Two fingers if - said transformation sequence involves temporary nudity.
Three fingers if - after transforming the character has less clothing on than when they started.

(Stock footage rules - if the transformation sequence is stock footage, drink an additional finger for each usage of said footage up until that point, after shouting "Stock Footage" in an extremely loud voice)

And:

One finger for - a cameo appearance by the anime wind.
Two fingers if - any characters from the series take the opportunity to pose head first into said wind.
Three fingers if - said character is in a physically implausible location (e.g. the top of a single standing stone) whilst doing so.

(Ryu rules - drink an additional finger if character appears to have ability to summon their own personal anime wind at will)

Section Three : Attention to detail

Drink:

One finger for - every instance of a pair of unfeasibly large breasts drawn in loving detail.
Two fingers for - every time said breasts bounce up and down.
Three fingers if - each breast bounces independently of the other.

(Clamp rules - drink an additional finger if you can’t actually tell whether or not the person in question -has- breasts.)

And:

One finger for - every instance of gratuitous fan service.
Two fingers if - it involves any character who may count as 'jail bait'.
Three fingers if - instance of fan service has the effect of raising the certificate of the entire episode.

(Langley rules - drink an additional finger if the fan service contains reference to thermal expansion)

And:

One finger for - each appearance of a sweat bead on the back of a characters head.
Two finger if - accompanied by face cracking.
Three fingers if - sweat bead is bigger than characters actual head.

(Nani rules - drink an additional finger for each additional character who has a sweat bead simultaneously)

And:

One finger if - actions of female companions cause character's nose to bleed.
Two fingers if - said nose bleed is of the Niagra Falls variety.
Three fingers if - character loses consciousness as a result.

(Tenchi rules - drink an additional finger if the loss of consciousness places characters life in actual danger e.g. they are under water)
